Before joining Smosh Games he was most famous for starring as Damien Johanssen in Disney's So Random! playing characters like: Zombie Man, Olaf Glutella, Nolan and Scott the Anime Brother.
He is long time best friends with regular Smosh cast member Shayne Topp which is most likely how he got the job. They both acted together on So Random!.
